As if Paris Fashion Week SS23 couldn’t get any more surprising after Bella Hadid’s spray on dress at Coperni’s show or Cher closing Saint Laurent’s show. Sunday media outlets and show attendees alike were shocked as Ye came stomping down Balenciaga’s mud filled runway at Parc des Expositions. Opening the show, the artist formally known as Kanye West sported a head-to-toe black look, featuring leather trousers, a multi-pocket bulky ‘security’ jacket and a baseball cap peeking out from under a hood. In regards to the “Mud” show meaning, Balenciaga Creative Director Demna Gvasalia told press the set was “a metaphor for digging for truth and being down to earth, I hate boxes and I hate labels and I hate being labelled and placed in a box.” Watch the full show below now.
