‘Threads’ App By Instagram To Rival Twitter

Instagram’s new app ‘Threads’ was briefly announced on the Google Play Store, and it’s set to rival Twitter. The app will allow Instagram users to use their same username for a conversation-based forum. ‘Threads’ is further described to bring “communities together to discuss everything from topics you care about today to what’ll be trending tomorrow.”

‘Threads’ announcement comes off of the heels of Twitter making a limit on their users seeing tweets. Elon Musk’s has limited regular Twitter users to just 600 tweets a day, leaving the vast majority of the app users disgruntled and frustrated. Chris Cox, Meta’s chief product officer says ‘Threads’ main goals are to provide safety, ease of use and reliability, and making sure that creators have a “stable place to build and grow their audiences.”
