“Squid Game” Director Hwang Dong-Hyuk Talks To Korea Times About The Idea Behind The Hit Netflix Series

It’s no doubting that the popular Korean Original turned Netflix hit series “Squid Game” has the masses in a chokehold. I mean after all the show is #1 in 90+ countries worldwide and on pace to break Netflix’s all-time most watched series record. The Korea Times recently had the opportunity to catch up with “Squid Game” director Hwang Dong-Hyuk to speak about the hit series and how the idea of it came to be. In the recent interview Hwang said the series was a “roller coaster ride” and took quite some time to get going along with stating that the series at it’s inception is centered around “Korea’s old children’s games, which were used in my series, that are simple and old, but I saw the potential to make them appealing worldwide.” Head to The Korea Times to read the full article now.
