Saudi Arabia Defeats Argentina In Historical Upset

The Argentinian National team led by arguably the greatest player of all time, Lionel Messi, lost to Saudi Arabia in the opening round of the World Cup. Saudi Arabia defeated the Argentinians 2-1.

Argentina came into the match ranked #3 in the world, to Saudi Arabia’s #51 respectively. Saudi Arabia was also +2000 underdogs to win the match.

The loss snaps a 36-game win streak for Argentina. The last time they suffered a loss in the opening round of the World Cup was in 1990. The victory for Saudi Arabia marks one of the biggest upsets in World Cup history.
