Today Levi Carter an up and coming rapper from Portsmouth, Virginia released the visual for his single “Finessed” Filmed by Reggie Felipe and  Directed by Jay Melendez the rapper goes throughout his day almost effortlessly letting the world into his life while hanging out with some of his closer friends, being in the kitchen with some asians and not allowing anyone to finesse him because its something he has been doing his whole life as you will hear in the lyrics. One thing I think for sure is that Levi will be receiving plenty of attention from this track due to the effortless rhythm and his melodic relaxed hook. Check out the visual below. Also be on the lookout for his debut ep ‘Anti Social’.

As promised this morning by Kim Kardashian, Ye dropped his newest song “Real Friends” on SoundCloud accompanied by “No More Parties in LA”.

Shortly after releasing the song, he pulled it and took to twitter to say how he wasn’t satisfied with the sound quality and that there was also an issue with some distortion in the main loop on “Real Friends”.

Real Friends was produced solely by Kanye with drum programming by Havoc. The track also samples Frank Dukes & Boi-1 da. In my opinion this song will definitely make everyone who was calling him washed after “Facts” dropped reconsider their thoughts and bring back the anticipation for SWISH.

No More Parties in LA is just a snippet at this time but features part of a verse from Kendrick Lamar as well. This track was produced by Ye with the help of Madlib and has reportedly been in the works since My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy recording.

Check them out for yourself here via Kanye’s SoundCloud:

Kanye West drops a new song right before the end of 2015 titled facts produced by Metro Boomin where he goes on a rampage talking about Nike, Adidas, Designer Clothing, North West, Kimoji App, Bill Cosby and so much more presenting FACTS ! ….. plus the hook goes something like “Yeezy, Yeezy, Yeezy just jumped over jumpman”. Yesterday the legendary Mike Dean teased us on instagram with a picture of what seemed to be a new Travis Scott track.

Late last night Travis Scott decided to bless his fans with two new tracks entitled “A-Team” and “Wonderful”. Wonderful features help from none other than The Weekend as the two seem to have a great chemistry when creating music together. Both songs contain Travis in his usual melodic, harmonized and ad lib heavy mode. “Wonderful” speaks about Travis & Abel going out and having a simply wonderful time doing the things they like to do which consist of drugs and women of course however in “A-Team” Travis goes through numerous lyrics where he simply refers to himself and his squad as the “A-Team” and asks a female politely to “not try to play them”. Check out “Wonderful” produced in a partnering effort by Boi-1da and Mike Dean and also listen to “A-Team” produced by Allen Ritter below. Also be sure to view the text La Flame received from non other than Dj Khaled.

It must be lit 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 #ATEAM #WONDERFUL

As 2015 heads towards wrapping up and we proceed to begin a new year one artist the world will have an eye on is Florida native Kodak Black. Kodak was pretty much underground and low key after his first two mixtapes “Project Baby” & “Heart Of The Projects” which features his most notable tracks “no flockin”,”scrilla” and “skrrrt”. Seems that after Drake posted a video during his birthday  on his private jet dancing to a song with a smooth but hard hitting beat and vocals from a very southern sounding artist, Everyone wanted to know who the artist was and what song it was Drake was vibing so well too. Turns out it was Kodak Black’s single “skrrrt” and ever since then Kodak has been a blaze in the hip hop world.

18 year old Kodak is signed to Atlantic Records and becoming more frequent in hip hop conversations being that he is now receiving more frequent features, bookings for shows and being viewed more throughout social media. It isn’t hard to say that Kodak has now built up a almost cult following with his raspy southern voice and vivid imagery of the streets. On Christmas day he released his latest mixtape “Institution” which contains Kodak’s rhythmic harmonized yet brash lyrics about being locked up and the harsh streets of Pompano Beach, Florida. The two standout songs for myself are “If You Aint Ridin” where Kodak breaks down the fact that he doesn’t need anyone around him that doesn’t really have his best interest and “Institution” where he breaks down himself being in Institution to a female and his wishes for them both while he is locked up and after he is released. Take a listen to the “Institution” Mixtape in its entirety below.

This months playlist features an interesting array of artists. The pace of the playlist slows down the further you get into it.From the Weeknd’s Jeremih “Pass Dat” remix to the Post Malone 50 Cent feature , a lot gets covered. If you don’t like a song skip it and hopefully you hear something that you can vibe to. Follow Theperfectplay on all social media platforms (Twitter,IG,Soundcloud) . Arguably the most popular band of all time, Beatles fans worldwide are ecstatic today after receiving news that the bands music is now available for streaming. The bands entire catalog and four new compilations are all available now on Apple Music, Spotify, Google Play, Amazon Music,Deezer , Tidal, Slacker, Groove and Rhapsody. Seems they have a new outlook on digital music being that they have held out on the streaming capabilities of their music longer than any other musicians ever and weren’t available on iTunes until 2010. Enjoy Beatles classic during these holidays.

In the fashion of ending an overall great year with a bang Pusha T’s long awaited Darkest Before Dawn is finally here! With assistance from The Dream, Kanye West, A$AP Rocky, Ab-Liva, Beanie Sigel, Kehlani, and Jill Scott this is one of those solid albums you can play straight through with no skips. Nothing less was really expected from the president of G.O.O.D. Music himself. My personal favorites so far are M.F.T.R. and Sunshine but that’s likely to change with nothing but quality tracks to choose from. Push also announced the Darkest Before Dawn tour earlier this week if you want to witness in person:

A$AP Ferg premiered his new single featuring Future on Beats Radio last night and it’s now available on iTunes. The track is a trap banger as expected from the self proclaimed Hood Pope and leader of the Freebandz world. Ferg hasn’t said whether or not this is the first single off of his album to be released in January entitled ‘Always Strive and Prosper’ as a tribute to Yams. However, if this is any reflection of what the album will be like it should be just as impressive as his debut album Trap Lord.

Wiz Khalifa dropped his third mixtape in the Cabin Fever series today and it’s safe to say it’s fire. The original Cabin Fever may still be my preferred of the three but with production by Sonny Digital and TM88; accompanied by features from Juicy J, Kevin Gates, King Los, Curren$y, Chevy Woods, and Yo Gotti; all rolled up in classic Taylor Gang vibes this one doesn’t lack at all. There is also a surprise appearance from 2 Chainz on the song Shit Starters that isn’t listed on the original track list. Check out the project and gather your own opinion of it.
