The Portland Trailblazers have traded Norman Powell and Robert Covington to the Los Angeles Clippers for Eric Bledsoe, Justice Winslow, Keon Johnson and a 2025 Second Round pick via the Pistons.
Powell who has been one of the only bright spots for the Trailblazers averaged 18.7 points 3.3 rebounds while shooting 45% from the field and 40% from three. Powell also adds a hard-nosed point of attack defender to the Clippers roster. Powell is under contract until the 2026 season.
For Portland, it seems like the franchise is headed in the direction of blowing up the roster and rebuilding. Trading away a valuable asset in Powell frees up a lot of cap space for the 2023 offseason.
