The debate has come up time and time again over the years if college athletes should be compensated. Many have stood on the side of the athletes pointing to the large amounts of financial gain athletes provide universities at the expense of their talents while just as many opposed stating that the athletes compensation comes in the form of the full scholarship a vast majority of them receive. Today all of the NCAA decision makers met and voted unanimously to allow athletes to be compensated for their name, image and likeliness. The NCAA board has immediately begun changes to their rules to maintain a distinct margin between amateur sports and professional. NCAA board director Michael Drake told ESPN “we must embrace change to provide the best possible experience to athletes.” Stay tuned for more on this developing story.
