Yesterday, Mercedes-Benz unveiled a special project that they and the late Virgil Abloh had in store. “Project MAYBACH” a special electric car that Abloh designed for the company and was presented at Art Basel.
The car was inspired by the outdoors, taking a classic car designed for pavement and gave it an off-road feel. The car is a battery-electric two-seater coupe with large wheels and unique elements such as it being 20 feet long. When it comes to the interior, we see features like an exquisite tan, that covers the leather seats dashboard. It comes with a touch screen display and a panoramic view.
Virgil worked directly with Gorden Wagener, Mercedes’ “design boss” on the project. The design payed homage to the previous successes of the company with Virgil’s futuristic outlook.
