Former first round draft pick Matthew Stafford and the Detroit Lions have agreed to part ways this offseason. The QB has been Detroit’s lead horse for 12 years boasting a record of 74-90-1 with many of the wins and losses coming from down to the wire games and heroic comebacks.
Currently Matthew Stafford is signed with the organization on a 5 year, 135 million dollar deal paying an annual salary of 27 million with two years remaining. The Detroit Lions will begin trade talks in the upcoming weeks. Early speculation places Matthew Stafford heading to the San Francisco 49ers or the Indianapolis Colts.
