LVMH Has Acquired A Majority Stake In Virgil Abloh’s Off-White Brand

Virgil Abloh launched his beloved Off-White brand back in 2013, and since has seen it grow to become one of luxury streetwear’s most sought after brands globally. Now, 8-years after it’s inception Virgil is ready to not only take the brand to new heights but in doing so also take his personal career to even greater heights with LVMH’s announcement of a 60% buy-in of Off-White Tuesday afternoon. In a ZOOM call-in from his Chicago home with New York Times Virgil said the new acquisition from LVMH offers him a “seat at the table”. In addition to remaining as the lead artistic director at Louis Vuitton, Virgil will now also be working across such categories as Wine and Spirits (LVMH owns Krug, Dom Pérignon and Hennessy, among 30 brands) and Hospitality (more than 50 hotels, including the Cipriani in Venice and Le Manoir aux Quat’Saisons in Oxfordshire), smashing silos and bringing more diverse voices to a variety of brands. Stay tuned for more information soon.
