When Lamar Jackson played his high school football days at Boynton Beach High, in South Florida, many did not think that his style of play would translate to the next level of college football. When Lamar Jackson arrived at Louisville, he had to wait his opportunity to take the helm as the starting QB. From the very first snap he took though, Jackson proved every doubters wrong and became one of the best college football players in the Nation during his tenure.
Now, the University of Louisville Cardinals have announced that they are going to retire Jackson’s #8 jersey. In three years, Jackson threw for 9043 yards and 69 touchdowns. He also ran for 4132 yards and 50 touchdowns. In 2016, Jackson won the Heisman trophy, among many other awards.
