LeBron James, For The First Time in His Career, Has Been Suspended One Game

Sunday night’s game between the Detroit Pistons and the Los Angeles Lakers took had an extreme turn of events. During a routine free throw, LeBron James was boxing out Pistons center Isaiah Stewart. After things got a little too physical, LeBron “inadvertently” swung and hit Stewart in the face. In a rage, Stewart made several attempts to try to engage James, knocking down whoever was in his way.

After the melee calmed down, both James and Stewart were ejected from the game.

Today, the NBA announced the punishments for the two players. Isaiah Stewart was suspended for two games for continuing pursue James and escalating the situation. James was suspended for one game for hitting Stewart and initiating the scuffle.

Last night was only the second time LeBron has been ejected from a game, his first coming in 2017, and the suspension is James’ first of his 19-year career.

LeBron will miss tonight’s nationally televised game vs. the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden.
