Today at Madison Square Garden one of the best moments in music and the entertainment industry as a whole took place as Kanye West unveiled his Yeezy Season 3 clothing & apparel along with letting the world hear his highly anticipated ‘The Life Of Pablo’ album for the first time. Scheduled for a 4:15 pm start time the show didn’t officially kick off until approximately 4:45 pm as the first thing people seen was the world renown Kardashian/Jenner/West family appear. Creative director of Balmain Olivier Rousteing designed the entire family outfit as light colors such as white, off white, cream and silver were used in the designs with luxurious fur coats. Then the man himself Kanye West proceeded to walk onto the arena floor of Madison Square Garden suprisingly accompanied by Lamar Odom which the fans took to generously giving him a round of applause.
Soon after that as Kanye walked to the DJ Booth followed by Travis Scott, G.O.O.D Music president Pusha T and long time friend Don C. Kanye then asked the crowd if they were prepared to hear the album they had been waiting on so long. The music began to play and the tarp came off of the stage floor to an array of colors unlike previous seasons where Kanye opted to stick to one basic color palette. The first song Ultra Light Beam kicked off things with a almost traditional baptist church sounding theme where Kanye repeats one of his more recent quotes saying “This Is A Gods Dream” ending with a prayer from none other than Kirk Franklin. The immediate standout focus on the stage however was the red dreads and red beads of up and coming rapper from Atlanta Lil Yachty. As the album continued the second track Father Stretch My Hands also had a church vibe to it produced by Metro Boomin featuring G.O.O.D music signee Desiigner.
As the album continued and the models stood upon a stage during the show viewers watched in amazement. Notable names such as Amina Blue, Lil Yachty, Ian Connor, J $tash and Young Thug modeled the season 3 merchandise where it seems Kanye is adding more patterned sewing to this collection. We also saw the unveiling of the much anticipated Yeezy Boost 550, a new color-way of the Yeezy Boost 350 and multiple color ways of the Yeezy Boost boot 1050.
The album continued on and seemed to have everyone on their toes as each song past and fans waited to hear a recognizable voice on a feature or here a notable shout from a producer. Metro Boomin & Swizz Beats produced a track a piece and the album also received notable features from the likes of new G.O.O.D music signee Desiigner, Kid Cudi and more notable features from the likes of Frank Ocean on ‘Wolves’ alongside Vic Mensa and Sia, Young Thug also was featured on a track titled ‘Highlights’. There were multiple guest appearances by numerous celebrities including Naomi Campbell, ASAP Rocky, ASAP Bari, Young Thug, Ian Connor, Don C, Virgil Abloh, Frank Ocean, Pusha T, Travis Scott, Kid Cudi and plenty of others. Towards the end of the show Kanye allowed Young Thug to play a new never heard before song and also allowed Vic Mensa to do the same. Kanye also announced the video game he has been in the process of creating based off of his mother going to heaven. All in all the show was utterly amazing, stay tuned for the official album release and recap soon.
