Coming to theaters early in 2024 is a new film produced by Jay-Z, titled ‘The Book Of Clarence.’ Written and directed by Jeymes Samuel, known for his impressive work on ‘The Harder They Fall,’ the movie will delve into the story of a man’s quest to become one of the Messiah’s apostles. Set in biblical times, Samuel shared with Vanity Fair, “I’ve always wanted to explore Bible stories, but from the perspective of the person who sells Jesus his sandals, the individual who owns the hair salon.” The role of Clarence is portrayed by Lakeith Stanfield, who leads an ensemble cast featuring Teyana Taylor, Omar Sy, RJ Cyler, and others. Initial reports suggest that biblical figures like Jesus, Mary Magdalene, and John the Baptist will all make appearances in the film. Jay-Z, reflecting on his involvement, remarked, “The Old West stories often overlooked people of color, but we know they were present. We’ve been here just as long as anyone else. Samuel brings fresh perspectives to these stories.” Stay tuned for more updates on ‘The Book Of Clarence,’ scheduled for release on January 12th, 2024.
