Balenciaga’s creative director Demna Gvasalia has announced that he will now go by “Demna” instead of his full name.

Demna decided this would be the best route, as he was looking to separate his work from his personal life.

Balenciaga stated,

“From now on, Demna uses only his first name, distinguishing an artist title from a birthname and therefore separating creative work from personal life. In all press going forward, he chooses to be referred to simply as Demna.”
