Last nights UFC 264 was one of the most hyped sporting events of the year. The main card featured Dustin Poirier and Conor McGregor looking to settle the score between themselves. The rivalry began in 2014 when Conor won in a first round TKO. Last year they fought again, and Poirier ended the match with a knockout in the second round after breaking down McGregor with devastating calf kicks.
Last nights bout started off with a face pace, both fighters coming out aggressively. But Poirier and McGregor exchanged elbows throughout the first round. But in the last seconds of round 1, McGregor slipped a punch and turned his ankle which resulted in a fracture. The fight was stopped immediately and Poirier was named the victor in the third fight between the two greats.
