After over a decade, the hit horror/suspense film Cloverfield will be receiving a direct sequel to the original film. Cloverfield has had spin-offs produced since its inception including ‘10 Cloverfield Lane’ & ‘The Cloverfield Paradox’, but none of these have fallen in line with the direct sequence of events that transpired after the first movie.

Directing of the sequel will be handled by Joe Barton and will be produced by J.J. Abrams. Unlike the predecessor, the film will not be limited to found-footage giving Joe and J.J. more creative freedom.
