Sharife Cooper was one of most highly touted players coming out of the 2019 class. Cooper, a 6’1 180lb PG was a 5-star recruit and ranked the 19th overall and 3rd best PG by ESPN. In junior high school season, Cooper was named the Gatorade Player of the Year for Georgia and averaged 28.6 points, 8.7 assists, and over 4 steals a game. On the Nike EYBL circuit, Cooper was named the Offensive Player of the Year as well.
His senior season, Cooper averaged 30.6 points and 7.8 asssists a game, and also eclipsed 2,000 points.
Cooper has been under investigation of the NCAA for months and was deemed ineligible before the season even started. Now, the NCAA has finally allowed Cooper to play today against Alabama.
