The partnership between Virgil Abloh and Evian started back in 2018 with the designer joining the company as their Creative Advisor for Sustainable Design Innovation. Earlier today, Evian revealed a new Virgil Abloh-designed water bottle which excluding cap and label is to be made from 100% recycled plastic and also be fully recyclable. The bottle design draws reference to the recycled aspect featuring a hammered effect covering the bottle as a homage to the previous life of the bottle. As for the bottle’s design, Virgil had this to say in a press release “My new hammer motif reflects how this new design has been reconstructed from waste materials, which in itself was a whole new challenge, and a new step in my partnership with evian. It is now more important than ever to practice sustainability; I believe we all have the power to challenge the status quo and to change our future for the better.” The new Evian design is set to release in March this year, and will be available at select locations globally.
