Tim Fox, brother of batwing Luke Fox and son of Wayne Enterprises CEO Lucius Fox is set to become the first Black Batman in the forthcoming “Next Batman” as part of DC Comics “Future State” series announced Thursday night. The four-book miniseries set to release January 5, 2021, will be penned by 12 Years a Slave writer John Ridley and will see a release of new issues every other week per DC Comics. In a recent interview writer, John Ridley said “They’re (John’s sons) happy for me. They’re great supporters. But they would much rather see Black Panther than 12 Years a Slave, let’s be honest,” he said. “So to be able to write the next Batman, for them to know that this next Batman is going to be Black, everybody else on the planet can hate it, have a problem with it, denigrate it, but I have my audience and they already love it.” Stay tuned for more information soon.
