Finally, eleven years after Man On The Moon: The End Of Day arrived and ten years since the second installment of the series Man On The Moon II: Legend Of Mr. Rager arrived, Kid Cudi has released the third installment of the amazing series, Man On The Moon III: The Chosen. The new 18-track album contains features from Phoebe Bridgers, the late Pop Smoke, Skepta, and Trippie Redd. As for production, that’s served by some of Cudders’ favorite producers over the years like FINNEAS, Take a Daytrip, Nosaj Thing, Mike Dean, Emile Haynie, Plain Pat, and more. With a runtime of just under an hour, Cudi remains vulnerable and genius on the album just as he was ten years ago at the inception of the series that made us all fans of the music that helped influence Hip Hop music for the better part of the past decade. To accompany the album, merchandise such as hoodies, t-shirts, and more were released in-collaboration with Cactus Plant Flea Market on Cudi’s website.
Speaking with Zane Lowe for an extended 50-minute Apple Music special released on the eve of MOTM III, Cudi explained the history of the series, the care he took to ensure returning to this musical story was happening at a time where it felt natural, his battle with drugs and more.
