Since the airing of ESPN/Netflix’s ‘The Last Dance’, the craze and buzz for MJ memorabilia have skyrocketed. Sotheby’s seems to be joining in on the craze as they recently announced their “Michael Jordan: Shattered” auction with the centerpiece of the auction being Jordan’s game-worn and signed jersey from 1985’s infamous “Shattered Backboard” charity game in Trieste, Italy where Jordan poured on 30-points during the Nike Exhibition game before the historical moment where one of his dunks shattered the backboard.
The jersey itself is expected to fetch between $300-$500k USD. Also apart of the auction are signed original game-worn 1985 Air Jordan 1 “Chicago,” and pristine Beckett Black Label Jordan basketball card, signed in black ink. The auction is currently going on at Sotheby’s website and will run until December 3.
