Week 4 NFL Recap

Week 4 of the NFL season was as exciting as ever. Some teams bounced back from tough losses, and some teams dug themselves in a deeper hole. Here’s the recap of each game from Week 4.

This week kicked off with the Broncos facing off against the Jets on Thursday. Bradley Chubb’s pass rush was dominant, as he sacked Sam Darnold 2.5 times. The Jets failed to complete their comeback as Melvin Gordon sealed the deal with a 43-yard touchdown run. Denver picked up there first win of the season, moving to 1-3 as they Jets fall to 0-4. Final score 37-28.

The Baltimore Ravens took a trip across town to play the Washington Football Team. Lamar Jackson had a modest game, but it got the job done. He threw for 193 yards and two scores in the victory. On the other side, Dwayne Haskins threw for 314 in the loss. Baltimore won by a score of 31-17.

The Cleveland Browns came to Jerry World to face against the Cowboys. The Browns completely obliterated the Cowboys’ defense. As a team, they racked up 307 yards. Odell Beckham Jr had a field day Sunday. He scored on a reverse and caught two touchdowns as well. Dak Prescott almost lead the Cowboys to another comeback, as he threw for 502 yards and four touchdowns in the loss. The Browns won 49-38 as they improve to 3-1, while Dallas falls to 1-3.

The Vikings and Texans both looked to get their first Sunday win as they faced off against each other. Dalvin Cook torched Houston’s defense like an Astroworld concert, as he ran for 130 yards and two impressive touchdowns. Adam Thielen had his self a day as well, with eight receptions for 114 yards and a touchdown (one failed attempt at the “Griddy” dance as well). Deshaun Watson threw for 300 yards and two touchdowns, but it wasn’t enough as the Vikings won 31-23. The Texans fall to 0-4 on the season.

Joe Burrow and the Bengals got there first victory on the season as they defeated the Jacksonville Jaguars 33-25. Joe Mixon ran for 151 yards and two touchdowns for Cincinnati, while Burrow threw for 300 yards and a touchdown. The Bengals move up to 1-2-1 on the season with the win.

The Detroit Lions hosted Drew Brees and the Saints Sunday. New Orleans defeated Detroit 35-29, as Alvin Kamara led them as he led the team with 119 total yards (83 rushing, 36 Receiving) and one touchdown. Matt Stafford threw for three touchdowns and 206 yards in the Lions loss. Saints improve to 2-2, Detroit falls to 1-3.

Russell Wilson keeps up his stellar play as he took the show on the road to Miami. Wilson threw for 360 yards and two touchdowns. Chris Carson had a great game as well, rushing for 90 yards and two touchdowns. Ryan Fitzpatrick may have started his last game as the Dolphins QB, as he threw for zero touchdowns and multiple interceptions again this season. Don’t be surprised if rookie QB Tua Tagovailoa is announced the started going into week 5. Seattle won 31-23, to remain perfect on the season.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers had their hands full with the LA Chargers Sunday, but Tom Brady had to remind everyone why he is the GOAT. Brady threw five touchdowns (Five different receivers) and 369 yards to lead a second-half charge to victory. Ronald Jones also rushed for 111 yards. Justin Herbert continues to impress, as he threw for 290 yards and three touchdowns. The Bucs won 38-31.

The Arizona Cardinals went to face the still Christian McCaffrey-less Panthers. Kyler Murray threw for 133 yards and three touchdowns. Murray also scampered for another 78 yards rushing. But Teddy Bridgewater was too much for Arizona. Bridgewater threw for 276 yards and two touchdowns to uplift Carolina to a 31-21 win. Both teams are now 2-2.

The Giants and Rams game was not pretty. Both teams played great defense, and the game went down to the last possession. The LA Rams won 17-9 over the Giants. But the biggest story around the game was the brawl between Rams CB Jalen Ramsey and Giants WR Golden Tate that ensued at midfield when the game was over. The Giants fall to 0-4 while LA improves to 3-1.

The Buffalo Bills rolled into Las Vegas to face the Raiders. Josh Allen kept up his stellar play as he threw for 288 yards and two touchdowns. Derek Carr’s 311 yards passing and two touchdowns weren’t enough for the win. The final score was 30-23. The Bills continue to 4-0 as LV goes 2-2 through the first quarter of the season.

Nick Foles made his Chicago bears debut against the Indianapolis Colts. Foles threw for 249 yards, a touchdown, and an interception. Indianapolis held Chicago to only 28 rushing yards. They’ve had one of the best defenses in the NFL this season. For Indianapolis, Phillip Rivers threw for 190 yards and a touchdown.

Sunday Night, the Eagles and the San Francisco 49ers battled it out. The 49ers made a QB switch from Nate Mullens to C.J. Beathard to rally to win the game, but Philly’s defense was too much. Carson Wentz threw for 193 yards and one touchdown in the Eagles victory. The Final Score was 25-20, with Philadephia earning there first win of the season.

The New England Patriots were down a man in there game vs. the defending champion Kansas City Chiefs. Cam Newton tested positive foe the Coronavirus just days before the game and forced the NFL to reschedule. Pat Mahomes and the Chiefs defense capitalized on this opportunity by beating New England 26-10 to move to 4-0. Kansas City’s defense forced three interceptions in the win.

In the final game of week 4, the Green Bay Packers hosted the struggling Atlanta Falcons. Aaron Rodgers dominated in the first half, throwing for three touchdowns. He finished the game with 327 yards and four touchdowns. The main beneficiary was Rober Tonyan, who caught three touchdowns for 98 yards. The final score was 30-16. Green Bay remains undefeated while Atlanta still is searching for there first win this season.
