Game 7 of the eastern conference semifinals came down to the wire as the Boston Celtics edged the defending champion of Toronto Raptors 92-87. Jayson Tatum led Boston with 29 points, 12 rebounds, and seven assists. Jaylen Brown was pivotal as well as he scored 21 and 8 rebounds. Brown went down early in the fourth after he slipped on a dunk, but he did finish the game. Boston was stifling on defense as they forced 12 steals and blocked five shots. Toronto fought hard until the end. They were led in scoring by Fred VanVleet, who scored 20 points. Kyle Lowry contributed 16 points and four assists before fouling out late into the fourth. This will be the second time in 3 years that the Celtics have advanced to the Conference Finals. They will play the Miami Heat for a chance to go to the NBA Finals for the first time since 2010.
