LeBron James To Host Prime-Time TV Graduation For High School Seniors

Although High School Seniors nationwide have had their big moment of walking across the stage and receiving their High School Diploma stifled by the sudden COVID-19 pandemic, LeBron James is sweeping in to save the day. LeBron’s Spring Hill Entertainment will be producing an hour-long commercial-free event, the special is set to air on ABC, NBC, FOX, and CBS on May 16 at 8 p.m. ET. It will also be streaming on Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and other platforms. As previously mentioned, High School Seniors may have had their “routine” graduation stifled but the guestlist for this Graduate Together 2020 Special Event is something that any High School Senior would be salivating for with names such as Malala Yousafzai, the Jonas Brothers, Yara Shahidi, H.E.R., Bad Bunny, Pharrell Williams, Lena Waithe, Megan Rapinoe, Kevin Hart, Barack Obama, Timothée Chalamet and more all taking part in the event. Graduating seniors can upload a photo of themselves to be used in the digital yearbook, as well as submit superlatives, school spirit videos, and thank-yous to impactful teachers. Five lucky students could also win $5,000 for submitting graduation speeches. James said in a statement  “These students have worked incredibly hard for this and there’s no way we can let that go unrecognized, while this won’t be the graduation experience they were supposed to get, we hope we can still give them something special because they deserve it.”
