Supreme has enlisted the British brand, Barbour for a new capsule collection set to release May 7th. The campaign features modeling from skateboarder/designer Blondey McCoy and will feature four lightweight waxed cotton items: a field jacket, waist bag, crusher hat and camp cap all of which come in a bold leopard print, traffic-stopping orange, or a staple black. Originally made with the sailors, fishermen and dockers of North East England in mind, the now-heritage brand’s namesake founder John Barbour has, since 1984, kept it all in the family, having it passed down five generations to date. Specializing in oilskin garments that are created from dousing heavy cloth with a hot mix of oil, wax and gum, the end product is basically an armor for harsh and extreme weather conditions. Today, Barbour has crossed into the fashion world, especially within the sartorial and equestrian spheres, and is known for its wax cotton jackets, namely the Bedale, the Beaufort and the Border. The Supreme x Barbour Spring 2020 collection will see a global online-only release, available via the Supreme webstore on May 7, and on its Japan webstore on May 9, with free shipping on orders over $150 USD.
