Over the years Kanye West’s Yeezy fashion shows have had triumphs, downfalls, uniqueness and a ton of other descriptive names depending on who your talking to. After unexpectedly announcing his Yeezy Season 8 showing over the weekend, Kanye once again presented a show that will take over media headlines globally. Before the showing editors received their invitations containing rattlesnake eggs and dried sage. The show was held at Espace Niemeyer, a building that is the headquarters of the French Communist Party and famous for the odd-looking white dome in its forecourt that crowns an underground council room. The show began approximately 30 Minutes late in typical Kanye fashion and featured a collection with an intentional aim of incompleteness centered around the effortless, comfortable, minimalist layering pieces that Kanye has become known for in recent years. Minimalistic woven crop tops, puffy vests, face-swallowing hoodies, sweatpants and more graced the runway as hems were left raw or ragged, seams were puckered and the garments flopped atop each model, yielding a sense of purposeful dishevelment. The show’s highlight, however, came in the form of Kanye’s 6-year-old daughter North West as she performed while models walked the runway and Kanye watched her performance with plenty of pride from the side eventually joining her at the conclusion of the show.
