After months of rumors and speculation, Finally announced this morning, 52-year-old Belgian Fashion Designer is headed to Italian Luxury House, Prada. The Belgian designer will take up the role of co-creative director, working alongside Miuccia Prada with equal responsibilities for creative decision-making, an unconventional configuration. The appointment is effective April 2, 2020. After leaving the role of Chief Creative Officer at Calvin Klein in 2018, Raf Simons told New York Times he and Mrs. Prada were in talks of possibly working together for the better part of a year. Their first joint show will be in September for Spring/Summer 2021. Mr. Simons will not work on Prada’s Miu Miu brand, and he will continue to design his own namesake line.
