Millions of basketball fans worldwide are calling on the NBA to make a change to their logo which currently ironically features Jerry West, the former Lakers GM that made the trade for Kobe Bryant on draft night in 1996. Bryant’s untimely passing on Sunday morning has sent both basketball fans and non-sports fans alike into shock which prompted Nick M. to begin a petition to change the logo writing “With the untimely and unexpected passing of the great Kobe Bryant please sign this petition in an attempt to immortalize him forever as the new NBA Logo,” on the Change.org petition adding that he hoped our dreams come true and we’re able to see the NBA legend engraved into the NBA Logo. Since the logo was invented in 1971 by Alan Siegel the logo hasn’t suffered any changes except a minor font tweak in 2017. Head here to sign the petition now.
