Serena Williams defeats a hungry Alison Riske

This morning at 8am EST not many expected for the legendary Serena Williams to be tested the way she would be in the coming hours by fellow American Alison Riske. The two dueled it out for two hours with Serena finally winning with a close out for Game, Set, Match 40-15. When asked about her quarter final victory Serena said “It was really satisfying, I wouldn’t have won that match a couple of weeks ago. She was playing so great, she beat so many great players and she was so close to even taking the win today. I was really pumped, obviously, it was for a place in the semis of Wimbledon. I lost my serve a few times and being up 40-15 I lost my serve so it meant more to [close it out] at 40-15.” Serena will be pairing up with Andy Murray for their mixed doubles matches later today.
