Virgil Abloh aka Flat White, long time friend and creative director for Kanye West released a new phenomenal “Grime” mix earlier this week when he joined UK’s Dj Cameo on BBC 1Xtra Radio.
Some I know are unfamiliar with “Grime” music which is the United Kingdoms version of what we call “Trap” music here in America.
Both styles of music feature a huge portion of the same topics being Drugs, Violence and simply the real “struggle” if you will. “Grime” is different from “Trap” being that it has a more upbeat almost dubstep feel to it in most songs. Virgil has been a long time supporter of this style of music since its early days. Just 3 months after his legendary “Boiler Room” DJ set in London he blesses us with a “Grime” mix to be remembered that features legendary grime artist such as Skepta, JME and Wiley just to name some.
